FLAVIA NUNEZ
Founder & Project Manager
For Flavia, books are like oxygen. She breathes them in. She treasures them. And she knows how important they can be to a child's development.
Flavia found books when she was in first grade. It came in the form of a birthday gift from her grandmother: a single thin tome. But it opened Flavia's eyes.
She understands that not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford books. Not everyone has a nearby library they can drive to; not every child has a school shelf that s/he can borrow a book from.
She wants to change this. She believes every child should have the gift she was given: the power of words.
Currently, Flavia is one of twelve Bezos Scholars in the United States, a National AP Scholar, the Poetry Out Loud Champion for the state of Florida, and junior class president at School for Advanced Studies North in Miami, FL. Outside of school, she spends her free time making bracelets, writing stories, and listening to podcasts on Greek mythology.
